October is National Dental Hygiene Month!

October is not only Breast Cancer Awareness month and the National Orthodontic Health Month but its also National Dental Hygiene Month. We want to remind our patients to return to their dentist’s office for their scheduled oral hygiene (dental cleaning) appointments regardless of your orthodontic status. Hygiene appointments allow the hygienist to do a deep cleaning to help wash away bacteria that can accumulate in the mouth. At many hygiene appointments, radiographs (X-rays) may also be taken to help dental practitioners check for cavities or other underlying issues.

So if you haven’t seen your hygienist in a while, give them a call and schedule a cleaning to get a healthier mouth and body. Do it for the “health” of it!
